How to Become a Program Provider

Organizations that wish to become Working Well with a Disability program providers may subscribe to the program and acquire an annual license to implement it.  Once licensed, an organization can have individuals within the organization register for the online Working Well with a Disability training course, held twice per year.

The benefits of establishing an organizational license include:

  • Recognition as an official Working Well Program Provider
  • Subscription to a technical assistance listserve
  • Connection to other program providers around the U.S.

Step 1: Review the Organizational License Agreement

Review the detailed Working Well with a Disability Program Provider license agreement. A signed copy of this license agreement must be submitted when registering facilitators for training.

Step 2: Register Individuals for Facilitator Training

The Working Well with a Disability facilitator training includes a one-week online classroom session (asynchronous) and one live webinar at the end of the week. Participants are required to engage in online discussion forums and attend the live webinar session. Trainings are held twice per year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Working Well trainees receive a hard copy Facilitator Guide, which is available in a variety of accessible formats including standard print, audio, large print and Braille. The Guide includes the same content found in the participant workbook as well as specific tips and guidelines for facilitators.

Training announcements for Working Well are sent through a training listserve. You can email livingwell@ruralinstitute.umt.edu to sign up for the listserve to receive training announcements and registration information.

Cost (due at registration):

Step 3: Plan Your Workshop

Once facilitators become certified by completing the training, they should begin preparing to host a consumer workshop. We recommend that consumer workshops be held within 3 months of the facilitators’ certification. Review recommendations on how to provide a workshop, as well as outreach and planning materials to get started. Facilitators should plan to order consumer materials four weeks prior to the workshop. Consumer workbooks cost $25.00 (US) each.
